Volta was created by Boris Taca and Nikos Demetriou, two former engineers at a major social media company. During their time working on platform algorithms, they became increasingly aware of the impact that digital dependency and compulsive scrolling had on users.
Troubled by the ethical implications, they chose to walk away from the industry and forge a new path. Volta was born from their shared mission: to design tools that empower people to reclaim their time, attention, and mental clarity. What started as an experimental idea became a movement blending technology and behavior design, to challenge the systems they once helped build.
